The full story

Within weeks of the passing, tribes withheld zakat, followers of Musaylimah, Tulayhah and Sajah claimed prophethood, and Madinah itself faced attack. Companions counselled leniency.

Abu Bakr refused: by Allah, if they withhold a rope they used to give, I will fight them for it. Usama’s army was dispatched as ordered, and Khalid’s columns fanned out across Arabia.

At Yamama, Musaylimah’s forty thousand met the Muslims in the bloodiest day yet - the Garden of Death. Hundreds of Quran memorizers fell; Wahshi, Hamza’s killer turned believer, struck Musaylimah down.

The wars lasted under a year. Arabia was reunited - and the ummah learned its first lesson: essentials are non-negotiable, even in crisis.
