The full story
Muhammad ﷺ was born in Makkah in the Year of the Elephant, orphaned early, raised by Abdul Muttalib then Abu Talib, and known as the Trustworthy (Al-Amin) before revelation. At forty, in Hira’s cave, the first word came: Read — and the twenty-three-year descent of the Quran began (96:1–5). Thirteen years of Makkan dawah — boycott, beatings, the Year of Sorrow — ended with the commanded Hijrah: Ali in the bed, the cave of Thawr, “grieve not, Allah is with us” (9:40), and Madinah’s welcome. Ten Madinan years built the mosque, brotherhood, Badr, Uhud, the Trench, Hudaybiyyah, the Conquest, and the Farewell Hajj.
The Quran names his station: mercy to the worlds (21:107), seal of the prophets (33:40), an excellent pattern for whoever hopes in Allah and the Last Day (33:21). Obedience to him is joined with obedience to Allah across the Book — and blessings upon him are commanded to every believer (33:56).
He passed in Madinah, buried where he died, leaving the Quran and his Sunnah — and a final sermon’s charge: let the present convey to the absent. The chain from Adam closes with him; no prophet comes after.
