How to

Steps in order

  1. 1After salam: istighfar 3x, then “Allahumma antas-salam...”.
  2. 2Count SubhanAllah 33x, Alhamdulillah 33x, Allahu Akbar 34x.
  3. 3Seal with the tahlil once; recite Ayatul-Kursi.
  4. 4Recite the Muawwidhat (1x; 3x after Fajr and Maghrib).
  5. 5After Fajr/Maghrib add the 10x tahlil and 7x “ajirni minan-nar”; do morning-evening adhkar in their slots.

The core routine in order

Stay seated after salam and say istighfar three times (“Astaghfirullah”) then “Allahumma antas-salam...”, then the famous count: SubhanAllah 33 times, Alhamdulillah 33 times, Allahu Akbar 34 times - whoever does this, sins are forgiven though like the sea’s foam (Sahih Muslim) - then seal with “La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah...” once. Add Ayatul-Kursi - nothing bars its reciter from Paradise but death (Nasa’i, graded authentic) - and the Muawwidhat (Ikhlas, Falaq, Nas) once each after every prayer, three times after Fajr and Maghrib.

The routine takes under five minutes and outranks rushing off to phones: the angels supplicate for whoever stays in their prayer-place in wudu (Bukhari/Muslim). Women praying at home earn the same seated-adhkar reward - place is irrelevant, presence of heart is everything. Our tasbih counter tool tracks the 33/100 goals if fingers lose count.

Fajr-Maghrib extras and common slips

After Fajr and Maghrib add: “La ilaha illallah wahdahu...” ten times (reward of freeing slaves - Tirmidhi), “Allahumma ajirni minan-nar” seven times, and the morning-evening pages’ “Bismillahilladhi la yadurru...” three times - all on our dua pages with Arabic and audio cues. Morning adhkar (“Asbahna...” set) attach to post-Fajr; evening adhkar (“Amsayna...”) to post-Asr or post-Maghrib - pairing them with prayer slots is how consistency survives busy life.

Common slips: sprinting through counts without the tongue knowing the words; chatting mid-adhkar (resume calmly, don’t restart); skipping Ayatul-Kursi, the single highest-value post-prayer verse; and treating the routine as optional-to-always-skip - it is sunnah, but a sunnah the Prophet ﷺ never abandoned. Five minutes, five prayers, Paradise-adjacent rewards.

Frequently asked questions

Which tasbeeh after namaz?

SubhanAllah 33x, Alhamdulillah 33x, Allahu Akbar 34x, then the tahlil once, Ayatul-Kursi, and the Muawwidhat - under five minutes, forgiven sins (Sahih Muslim).

What duas after Fajr and Maghrib specifically?

Add the tenfold tahlil, “Allahumma ajirni minan-nar” seven times, triple Muawwidhat, and the morning/evening adhkar sets - all on our dua pages.

Yes - fingers are best (they will testify), counters and our tasbih tool are fine aids. Presence of heart matters more than the instrument.
