Validity mistakes

Slaughter before Eid prayer (counts as meat, redo it), underage or defective animals, six-or-eight-share cows (must be exactly seven equal shares), intentions of mere meat not worship, and missing the 13th-Maghrib deadline entirely.

Fix: verify age and health at purchase, keep written share lists, slaughter only after your local Eid prayer, and book charities early - late Dhul-Hijjah slots sell out.

Reward mistakes

Paying the butcher in meat or hide, selling the hide for personal use, hoarding all meat and skipping the poor, delaying distribution till it spoils, and arguing over shares on Eid day. Qurbani commemorates a father’s submission - quarrels at the slaughter site contradict its spirit.

Fix: cash wages, charity hides, same-day poor delivery, and a calm written ledger.
