The full story
Aisha — Abu Bakr’s daughter — married the Prophet ﷺ in Madinah, spending his final nine years at his side, her room adjoining the mosque. Revelation descended in her presence; he passed with his head on her chest, buried where she lived.
Slandered in the Ifk incident, she was vindicated by revelation itself (24:11–20) — innocence declared from heaven, recited forever. Trial became testimony.
After his passing she taught for nearly fifty years: companions and successors crowded her door for hadith, law and medicine — over two thousand narrations, the ummah’s domestic code. “Take half your religion from her,” runs the famous (variously graded) praise.
