Minor signs - the world we already recognise

The Prophet ﷺ foretold minor signs that read like today’s headlines: loss of trust and knowledge, riba and adultery normalised, music and intoxicants widespread, tall buildings competing in deserts, the barefoot competing in construction, time contracting, Mosques ornamented while hearts empty, and trials (fitan) raining like drops (Bukhari/Muslim). Their function is not date-setting - which the Quran reserves to Allah alone (7:187) - but urgency: every fulfilled sign is a personal alarm clock.

Treat minor signs as diagnosis, not entertainment: binge-watching “end-times” videos while missing Fajr inverts their purpose. The companions heard the same signs and responded with worship, charity and reconciliation - prediction content that produces fear without prayer has failed its only job. No scholar, dreamer or AI can date the Hour; everyone claiming 202X dates joins a fourteen-century chain of the refuted.

The 10 major signs in order - and the only preparation

The major signs arrive in sequence once the first falls like beads cut from a string (Tirmidhi): the Dajjal (the deceiving messiah, one-eyed, “kaf-fa-ra” on his forehead, forty days of trial, killed by Isa at Lod), the descent of Isa ibn Maryam (breaking the cross, ruling by Islam), Yajuj and Majuj (Gog-Magog swarming, destroyed by Allah’s command), three land-swallows (east, west, Arabia), the smoke (dukhan), the sun rising from the west (repentance gates close), the beast (dabbatul-ard marking foreheads), and the fire herding humanity to the gathering land (Sahih Muslim’s ten-sign hadith).
