Dua Acceptance - Times, Places, Conditions and Blockers

3. 3Open with hamd + salawat, ask with certainty, repeat thrice, close with salawat.

When dua is guaranteed attention

The last third of the night, between adhan and iqamah, in sujood, the last hour of Friday, while fasting (until iftar), on Laylatul Qadr and Arafah day, after fard prayers, when rain falls, and the oppressed’s, traveler’s and parent’s dua - each established in Bukhari/Muslim and the Sunan. Keep a written dua list; the habit of asking beats eloquence.

Places carry weight too: Multazam and Hateem, Arafah field, Riazul-Jannah, and anywhere the oppressed or needy raise hands. Combine time + place + need and the doors shake.

Conditions, etiquette and blockers

Begin with hamd and salawat, face the qibla, raise hands, ask with certainty (“I will be answered”), repeat three times, and close with salawat - the etiquette the Prophet ﷺ taught. Halal earnings are the hidden condition: the traveler with haram food is answered how? (Muslim). Haste (“I asked and wasn’t answered”) is itself a blocker - persistence is part of the worship.

The six blockers: haram income/food, haste and abandonment, heedless distracted heart, asking for sin or kinship-cutting, doubting Allah’s wisdom in delay, and publicizing sins while asking privately. Remove blockers before multiplying duas.
