Story

The full story

Ibrahim reasoned his people out of star, moon and sun worship in turn — each time they set, he declared he loved not those that set — then faced the One who created the heavens and earth (6:76–79). He smashed the temple idols except the largest and hung the axe on it, trapping his accusers in their own logic: ask them, if they speak (21:57–63). The verdict was fire — and the command came: O fire, be cool and safe for Ibrahim (21:68–69).

Migrating for his Lord, childless in old age, he prayed for a righteous son and was given a forbearing boy (37:99–101). Then the dream-command to sacrifice him: both submitted — father laying son down, son urging obedience — until the ransom came with a mighty sacrifice (37:102–107). Ismail’s line would carry the final Messenger.

With Ismail he raised the House’s foundations, praying: our Lord, accept from us; make us Muslims to You; show us our rites; accept our repentance (2:127–128). Allah made him an imam of nations and commanded all believers to follow his pure creed (2:124, 16:120–123).

His life compresses the whole religion: demolish false gods, survive fire by tawhid, sacrifice the beloved on command, and build the House begging acceptance. Allah Himself named him Khalil — intimate friend (4:125).

Narrated strictly from the Quran (Quran 6:74–83, 21:51–73 and 37:99–113) without invented details.
